WVSMA Student Scholarships
Winners will be announced at the annual symposium and state competition on April 23-24th in Grand Mound. Good luck to all that applied. Scholarships need to be postmarked by February 17th, 2010 for consideration.

Eligibility Requirements
ALL APPLICANTS MUST:
Ø Be a high school senior at the date of the application
Ø Intend to earn a degree in the medical field
Ø Have a minimum 3.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale
Ø Be sponsored by an athletic trainer/instructor of a recognized WVSMA sports medicine program
Ø Attend a high school that is a member of the WVSMA in good standing

$ 500 WVSMA
$ 200 Benik Scholarship
$ 200 WVSMA
The Benik Scholarship of $200. To qualify, the applicant must enroll in a university, community college, or technical college. The scholarship will be paid directly to school the applicant is attending.
Application Instructions
1. There are three sections of the Scholarship Application to be completed:
A. An application to be completed by the nominee and signed by the nominee and nominating Sports Medicine Instructor
B. Two letters of recommendations, one of which needs to be by the instructor of the WVSMA program.
C. Short answer responses to be written by the nominee
2. Incomplete applications will not be processed. All applications must include an official transcript, necessary signatures, and other requested information.
3. The nominating WSVMA instructor is considered to be the individual responsible for collecting all official transcripts and the completed application, and forwarding them to the
Scholarship Selection Committee.
4. The scholarship application must be postmarked on or before February 17, 2010 to be eligible for the scholarship.
5. All pages of the application must be typed.
